Day 329
I'm just back from riding up Mount Stromlo, an area which was all burnt out during the 2003 fires. The observatory, library and other scientific facilities were ruined. The Brindabellas, in the distance, were all ablaze and the fire rushed across the pine plantation valley and up Mount Stromlo before anything could be saved. There were lots of possibilities for sketching but by the time I got there it was starting to rain - almost snow, it felt like- so I found a spot under the closed cafe and did these three views. I should have taken more clothes - I was fine when I was cycling uphill but sitting sketching and, even worse, cycling downhill, I was freezing and could hardly think.

Alison, these bright little credit card charmers have brightened my week. Thank you.
Annie
I'm glad you like them, Annie. The card idea has helped me get around a block about doing these sort of landscapes.
I love your cc drawings. What wonderful vistas in this one. The cold rainy ride sounds awful. I thought of you this morning when I tried to take a walk while my car was being serviced and it was so cold and windy so I just went shopping at the nearby Target store instead. When I came out it was pouring and I was glad I hadn't walked too far. I'm such a wimp!
Small pictures make you focus on the shapes and these are certainly charming.
Cold? After that awful day last week which was nearly 40! It's beautiful here today and at last I'll go out and try not to cough!

Lovely little drawings Alison, I am getting frustrated at not being able to post my drawings but photos are up on the back valley seasons blog. We have had some rain but not enough apparently.
Alison - these are fantastic - lots more like this please!
I'm posting your sketchblog to the blogroll on Travels with a Sketchbook
