Day 239
Christmas Day 2006 - I put the turkey in the oven at 2.30pm, then set off round the lake on my bike. There was a freezing wind blowing from the mountains where it was snowing. There were very few families out trying to celebrate with a barbeque and almost no walkers and cyclists. These are called Scotch! thistles here - they arrived from Britain in bales of hay with the early settlers and are now a terrible weed - but they are very beautiful. 17 km cycle

What? Freezing wind? Snow? It was a balmy 26°C here! The weather is upside down! But I like that you illustrated thistles on Christmas Day ... "then away they all flew like the down of a thistle".
Yes, Even weeds have texture, colour and shape.
Have a nice week. We've been tidying up with two families coming for an evening meal with us, and probably some kava as well.

Thought of you and the snow for Christmas, love the thistles, awful prickly things in hay tho
We had eaten by that time (allowing enough light for us to squeeze in a walk). I read somewhere that there's less chance of a heart attack from all that fatty food if you go for a walk afterwards! Lovely pretty thistles.
Lovely drawing in my favorite color.
