Through this blog, I am joining Julie Oakley and others around the world, in a daily excursion, by foot or bike, stopping along the way to do a sketch.

Day 192 I thought I'd have a change today, and try pastels. I cycled around the lake to a stand of trees with beautiful multi-coloured trunks. There was no shade to sit in and the flies were a trial so I only did one - not what I intended, but there you are. 17 km cycle
Having a quick look at what you have been doing before we head over for the ferry, I got everything organised in double quick time. Still no sketching, tomorrow I hope. Love these last few and really like the pastels. I guess the waste ground garden is like the allotments in the UK.
Funnily enough Alison I've just got back from my walk and guess what I drew? Mine is monochrome however. Pastels are a lovely medium and I think you've used them beautifully here.

So many colours on one trunk? Pastels seems just right for this one.

I hope you'll have a chance to do more of these. This one is lovely but so tiny!
You should certainly keep going with the pastels Alison.
Try getting hold of some Art Spectrum Colourfix board, it's abrasive and holds pastel better.
