Day 190
I walked the loop late in the afternoon with a cool but invigorating wind. This is a paper bark tree - it has lots of peeling sheets of papery thin bark in colours from pink, rust to grey. Maybe I should have coloured it, but I decided not to. 7 km walk

I love it in line - all those beautiful wiggly lines with a subtle difference in line thickness to differentiate between the edge of the tree and the paper layers.
Melaleukas are strange trees and we have many in Geelong. The bark is often of many colours.
Some people here do bark paintings and chop up the coloured bark and glue the pieces to make up a landscape or something. I don't really go in for that idea though.

Both of these last two drawings are interesting. I love the little "landscape"!
I really like this drawing! I'm glad you didn't color it--it's wonderful as is and your lines really capture the peeling layers.
