Looking across the Lake from near the Botanic Gardens, with Springbank Island in the middle - the houses of Yarralumla are just visible on the far right. I am always amazed at how I can be in the middle of a capital city and see so much green and almost no people. The Lake continues for several kilometres in both directions. 17 km ride

This is such a lovely scene and seeing it was a nice way to brighten my day as I get ready to go to work. I like the linework, the way the water reflects the sky and the little fisherman in the corner.
I know what you mean. I feel the same way when I'm in Canberra. "Wait ... this is the capital city of an industrialised Western nation? All I can see is sheep!" Love that!
This is so beautiful! Love the little bit of ink and the colors.
Really nice painting Alison, so long since I have been to Canberra but I do remember the lake very well and the Botanical Gardens. Last time was mid winter and grey and freezing cold.
