Day 167An evening walk around Yarralumla after another day of temperatures over 30* and hot winds. Many gardens are looking completely desicated already and we're only half way through Spring. The Government has gone along all the pavements grinding away the height irregularities between slabs - I'm amazed this job reached the top of the priority list in these cash-strapped times - I think they are afraid of being sued by people who trip up even though several recent court cases have found in their favour. 5 km walk

Dryness can, I think, be more depressing than too much wetness. I wish I could share some of our rain. I've just been enjoying looking at the archives of this blog, it makes a really interesting record - and I love how you choose such quirky subject matter - I mean who would've thunk of drawing pavement?
A pavement! It thought it was you going abstract. Only joking. Your focus on shapes and textures of ordinary objects is lovely to see.

Heavens Alison, grinding back pavements, what next? I will go back to drawing mundane things after seeing this, its great. I thought your weather was not good either, our paddocks are crisping before our eyes and neighbours who would not normally cut hay in early October are trying to get a few bales off dry paddocks. To top it off we seem to have a fire bug in our area which is really scary.
The quirky subject matter avoids having to do landscapes which I find so difficult to 'see' - not to mention 'do'
