Day 97
A gorgeous day with blue sky and white fluffy clouds - so it was warm enough at last to sit in this shady spot and draw what feels to me like a cathedral without the oppression of the Church. It's by the lake along my regular loop walk - you turn a corner and there it is - a mixture of tall, strong Monterey pines and weedy birch trees that never get enough light. 6 km

I love pencil sketches! You have captured the peace so well in these simple lines!
Intersting that both you and Julie are back to pencil, I love the look of them. Hope all is well. I will be off for tonight and tomorrow and hope my back is ok after all the packing.
This looks like a heavenly spot and you've got the perspective just right.
What a beautiful spot to walk to. I enjoy getting to know your neighborhood as you take your daily excursions on foot or bike! I know what you mean about that feeling of being in a cathedral. The coastal redwood groves in Northern California feel like that also.
