Day 98
Another lovely bike ride over the Scrivener dam and around the Lake. This is a view looking down on the dam from a spot about 2 km from my house. All the hills behind and the area where I was sitting to draw were burned during the devastating 2003 fires and the vegetation cover is still very sparse. 15 km cycle

These pencil sketches are so "in the moment" I enjoy them more, in some ways, that the full color stuff that we all draw.

Did you paint and draw after those awful bushfires? We watched the news at the time and it must have been terrifying.
I did lots of pictures after the Ash Wednesday fires in the Anglesea area many years ago. Peceli was a chaplain to the Scouts and we drove down to the scout camp a day after the fires and it was so grey and so still. Then two months later there was the rejuvenation.
