Day 228
I cycled around the lake and then popped into see the graduate art exhibition at the art school. Then I was taken with all the activity going on to build several blocks of new city buildings - quite complicated to sketch. 20 km cycle

This is really great Alison. I can see how complicated it was – the sort of subject that I tend to give up on before even starting, but it was worth it, the combination of red and all those complex lines of scaffolding etc looks quite beautiful.

terrific sense of building going on here, and all those complicated lines, as Julie says, a great composition.

Buildings are so hard to draw and I get lazy to draw all the repetitions. One time I had fun though with Federation Square in Melbourne which is all made up of diamond kind of shapes.
Good on ya!

Alison, this is a spectacular piece--wonderfully drawn and composed and so dynamic and regal even though it's just a building under construction.
