Day 107
I spent the morning gardening again, then went over to my parents for the afternoon. My sister started darning a blanket and Dad finished the job. He always wears a Fairisle vest and sports this professorial hairstyle. 3 km ride

Very nice sketch, Alison. You did a good job capturing the moment.

Ha. The first time I read it, I read "professional" and thought you were being wry. But "professorial" made me grin too. Lovely.

My sister just sent me a photo of Mum with your flowers in the background!

Lovely. Do you think it's sailing that makes men lose all macho inhibitions about sewing? Robin will happily sew on buttons etc.

I think it was scouting, Julie. Dad was an only child, 11 when the war broke out and grew up on scouting, part time school in teacher's homes, the public library and with friends on bikes around the countryside.

Hmmm. I misread it as professional and wondered what you were on about. Professorial though - isn't that the word to do with care of the aging? I like the angle of the body.
Re the other drawings you have done lately - you are showing us what can be done with shapes, without texture, without fuss. Thanks.
